:eyepop:thats a really detailed image , looks stunning from here and with a dslr
What a fascinating region Humayun, the dark lane gives an amazing visual effect as it snakes accross the image.
A very enjoyable image
Humayun,
Great presentation of this grand emission nebula. You've framed the object very well providing an aesthetic view. Details along the edge of molecular cloud are plentiful. If anything, you could have perhaps have brought these details out a little more with a high pass layer mask, but that’s just a matter of opinion.
This is on my target list, but I intend to also capture the open cluster NGC6193 and the bi-polar nebula NGC6164/65 in the same frame with the FSQ.
Well done and thanks for sharing this fascinating nebula.

I love the subtle changes in colour there in different parts of the nebula. Areas of reflection as well as emission nebulae.

PS from such a relatively dark site why are you restricting yourself to ISO 400? just curious

little col,
Cheers. :)
Ric,
Cheers, again!
Jase,
I spent a while trying to get the framing right on this one. It was getting low on the horizon, too. I can see a second attempt at this one in the near future. It's probably lacking in detail as it was low, as mentioned, and I didn't get enough data on it. Also, the primary had fogged up as it was so cold. :(
The field in the FSQ (106)? would look astounding. Can't wait to see your attempt.
Cheers again, for the detailed critique.
Gary,
Thank you, as always. :)
Nick,
Cheers!
Scott,
I'd like to devote an entire night to this region and bring out more detail. Hopefully sooon.
David,
I love that ribbon. It's like a swirl of ice cream or something.
Rob,
Thank you very much! :)
Narayan,
Cheers, mate!
I've just found that I'm comfortable working at ISO-400. I have to admit, though, that the camera I was using, coupled with the extreme cold, led me to have virtually black dark frames. Even when performing an auto levels stretch in Photoshop, there was just the slightest bit of glow in the bottom right. I had never seen a dark frame so dark before. Perhaps, ISO-800 would be suitable on this faint target. Not sure.
Ron,
Thank you!

Humayun
