What if the Planets, Galaxies, and in fact the whole Universe as we know it, is only an even smaller particle within an Electron or Proton or Neutron of an Atom of another living being! :eyepop:
Heaaavvvyyyyy!!!!!
:screwy:
Sorry, but these stupid ideas come up when I can't get outside and image.

 True Geoff.
Just as long as it isn't an Atom within something like a dead Mushroom or alien Snail Mucus
Hi Ken, that thought has rattled around the ol brain cell as well on the odd occasion. It makes for entertaining thoughts at 4:00am on a sunday morning.

Okay Ken – I’ll keep you company and come out of the closet too; I haven’t seen Men In Black, I or II. There, I feel better now!

Ken, when I was teenager I had exactly same idea about the universe. But teachers beat it out of my head.

As the salesman said to Homer Simpson when he heard that Homer didn't have all the latest gadgets in his car - "My heart bleeds for you!"
I guess there will be two schools of thought from - "you haven't missed much" to "what a great concept movie!" I enjoyed the first in particular, so I'm in the second school.
Not too many spoilers in this review. Grab the DVD, you will probably enjoy!

Just remember:- "The Galaxy is on Orion's Belt!"

There's a 3rd school of thought out there.
" It's not a movie, it's a documentary. " :screwy:
We all knew that Sly was an alien.
yup, we are prolly but parasites on a much larger creature :)

Ken what you propose is not unreasonable simply beyond our comprehension.
If the Universe is infinite and personally I think it can only be that way it would be difficult to suggest a different system to the one you ponder.
There is a proposition out there re the "fractal Universe"that may well lead us to the conclusions the subject of your muse.
Thanks for sharing you thoughts

the interesting thing is scale.
we have always used ourselves as scale as to what is big and what is small.
we know what is big and small relative to us but where do you go from there?
it also seems a bit odd to me that it doesnt matter how bizarre something sounds in theory, chances are if you go looking for it you'll find it.
think of neutrinos/black holes/dark matter/quarks etc.
at one time black holes were thought not to even exist, now its believed that they exist at the centre of every galaxy, the things that were thought to be the strangest as to mabee not even exist have been the things that are pretty much fundamental in how the universe seems to work

Aahhhh, so could be true then, that we may be an atomic particle in an Aliens Ear wax! Yeek!
But yeah, anything is possible until proven 101% wrong.

All things are possible but science eliminates the improbable according to the latest methods.
I think it is far more disturbing that our very material Universe is based on fleeting quantum probabilty functions.
Any one who is not worried by this should check their bank balance before it changes.
It is funny that on any scale we can now see 10^20 either way. Gee we must be in the centre of the universe!
It is only by asking questions can we ever hope to expand our very limited knowledge.
We are all men of the forest and it is only lately we have time to contemplate the really big questions with even a glimmer of some sort of answer.
I can't even get colour correct yet!
I will never give up no matter how impotent I feel!

the worst part is, the people looking for answers just come up with more questions lol

I look at the way galaxies line up in strands like buttons on a string and wonder if this line up is some sort of "root" system that gathers and processes matter to be passed along the system to someplace we can not comptemplate... !!!????
to say such sounds off the planet but when you look at the maps as they are drawn it can look this way with little effort.
Irrespective of being part of some larger being we are so small in relation to what we know is there it is beyond our understanding.
What is neat is as far as we know we are the only species to think about other worlds... I dont think my dogs give it much thought for example... so how good is that?
We may even be less important than we all think of ourselves.

If we are just a part of a gigantic creature and it is evil. Will we all go to hell for being part of it??
Sorry couldn't help myself.

It may all work in the opposite too!
There may be whole universes inside our Atoms!!!!
Hmmmm . . . .
