As much as I am fond of my valve-display Nixi clock,
a (likely targeted) advert caught my eye, spruiking a LED based Nixi look alike.

Apart from multiple display modes (the Matrix-like screen saver is very cool)
it can interrogate Network time via Wi-Fi. Read: very accurate.

Of course I had to get one....

...it's now in the "pool room" :D

P.S. Not too hard to find if you google the nameplate on the attached pics ;)

Another, very cool, display Peter.
I’m going to check it out.

I still love my valve Nixi, which you recommended originally.

Thanks for sharing.

Lovely but I have a computer, several watches, a oven, microwave, wall clock and TV or two, so all I don't need is something else to tell me the time, being retired I sometimes forget what day it is :)

The clue with Nixie tubes was that they were not just the display device but also the decimal counter (with carry to the next tube).

Fair 'nuff. I also have a number of watches , some fancy, some not so much.

A Citizen Satellite Wave, that is powered by light and automatically updates via GPS time signals, sits on wrist 99% of the time (pardon the pun)

Curiously while attending a young person's birthday celebration recently, I noticed many of the "30 something" parents didn't wear a watch....but mobile phones were clearly a "must have"

Yep can't live without them this generation, my wife tells me off because I don't carry mine around with me, "comments like what if someone rings etc etc", my philosophy, if its important they will ring back or leave a message, if its spam I don't care, if its bad news then they will message me if I don't answer or ring again or ring the wife, a phone doesn't rule my life :) :)
