Attempted the Leo triplet, wish I had more data to add. But my weather has been pretty bad with clouds and rain and minor floods. But it turned out decent enough.

They look great Ben!
Yes, weather has been not fun for this interest (or any outdoor but maybe today or tomorrow skiing or tobogganing).
Floods at Katoomba?
The low laying region?
I'm in Lithgow and can't take even a camera tripod out without it sinking in my yard. As for telescope and goto mount,. I've not bothered.

Not like the floods up north. Just the backyard flooded out. My weather station got over 200mm during the last rain event, but yes. I also sank about a inch into the ground.

Excellent, the trail from the interactions is quite visible.

I remembered after saying this I had some friends and acquaintances living in the lower lying areas of Katoomba and Leura and they had water issues with heavy rain.
My back yard is sloping but I put a camera tripod out recently with my D810 and a 200mm lens (f2.8 so heavy) but the thing sunk in the yard, I sunk standing there and I'm beyond a lightweight, probably fly weight after loosing 15Kg in a few weeks heading up to Christmas last year (doctors still have no idea why and certainly not intentional, from 70Kg to 55 in less than 21 days).
I just need 1 month of strong sunlight (or was it 1 year, I forget) and my yard should dry. It's worse that it's on a slope because the water should run off more than soak in.
