Hi All,
I've had a bit of a break from astronomy ( Work and Life ), now getting back into it.
I had my observatory set up for measuring spectra, but now wish to use my ancient cameras.
Before I start wading through various forums to get things working again, I have a few questions I thought the brains trust here might be able to help with.

Does anybody still use a QHY8?

Does anybody still use a SBIG STL1100?

My old Windows 98 observatory computer is long gone, so should I run an emulator or have people got these working on Windows 10 or 11?

I do have a Windows 8.1.2 computer that was running the spectrograph. I tried loading the SBIG drivers on that but couldn't get SBIG's CCDOps to run.

If someone is using these, it would be great if I could pick your brains to get things working again. This might save a lot of hair-pulling.

Thanks in advance Ken

A couple of these mention Windows 8.x

One mention of the QHY8:

Hello Kenny,
My observatory laptop runs Win10 with a QHY8L (one shot colour) for some time with no problems.

Thanks for the replies, chaps. The links and threads have been a big help with the QHY8. I also wish to thank Sunslayr ( David) and Kinetic (Steve). I have that camera working.
As for the SBig the computer can now see it, but the CCDOPS can't, will try some other programs today.

Wow Steve that comet shot is amazing.
I've seen mention how many of these older CCD cameras are so worth having, plus they have larger pixel sizes than most CMOS sensors, very suited to larger focal lengths.
