I just got a new mobile phone the other day. Motorola K3. I am astounded to find that it only has one normal ring tone "Standard", plus 10 absolutely useless songs (with people singing and all). Why do I want a song blurting out for my ring tone?? Much less one that I hate!

Search for "free normal ring tone" and the like on Google and all you get is the same song type ones.

Anyone know where I can download a normal boring old "ring tone" (as opposed to "song") from?

My old mobile has good ones (Motorola V3) but they can't be transferred off the phone (have tried USB & bluetooth).

:help:

For now I have done a "voice recording" of my old ring-tone playing on the V3

Thanks.

That's not a good old ring! That's a modern digital sounding phone!!! Yuk!

I also am annoyed that my new LG flip-phone with NextG network doesn't have a normal ring tone.

Roger, I did what you did, I recorded the house phone ringing and use it as a ring tone. BUT! I added a bit of flavour to mine. It rings once, then my own voice yells out "Hey, ya phones ringing!".

Atleast I know it's MY phone ringing

The other annoying thing is that the ring always starts at a quiet volume and then builds up. Meanwhile the caller hangs up coz I haven't heard the 1st ring. And it can't be changed to ring full volume from the outset!!!!!!!!

Vingo, you traitor!!! I thought you would have kept Astrobelle happy by having a 'Moooooo' ringtone, not a 'Baaaaa'!

Yep Roger - I'm with you all the way. It seems that mobile phone manufacturers are catering to children and forgetting the rest of us.....

I have to thank iMate for putting good OLD-FASHIONED bakelite desk phone-style ring tones on my JasJam that really sound like a good old proper phone. When it goes off in the street you see older people smiling all of a sudden.

"Briiiiinnnnggggggggg....Briiiiinnnn ggggggggg.......................... ...........Briiiiinnnnggggggggg.... Briiiiinnnnggggggggg"

Cheers
Chris
