interesting facts about the Jupiters atmosphere I’ve found here:

"Dynamics of Jupiter’s Atmosphere" (pdf 1.3MB) by Andrew P. Ingersoll (http://www.lpl.arizona.edu/~showman/publications/ingersolletal-2004.pdf)

http://www.lpl.arizona.edu/~showman/publications/ingersolletal-2004.pdf (http://www.lpl.arizona.edu/~showman/publications/ingersolletal-2004.pdf)

absorbed sunlight power is at Jupiter only 3.3% that at Earth
and the ratio of Jupiters internal power to absorbed Solar power is 0.7
(at Earth 2x10^-4)

e.a.

Thanks iSpom, it looks to be a very interesting article. I've only skimmed it now because i'm at work, but there's some indepth reading there for tonight before bed.

One of the authors, Glenn Orton, is on one of the Jupiter email lists I contribute to and I've had some discussion with him.

The science of Jupiter has intrigued me lately, and this will be a good supplement. Thanks!
