I have ordered one if these as a fallback in case the ASIAIR dies or whatever.

But I was wondering whether it is possible to pair it with some sort of wireless transceiver or, alternatively, to connect it via ethernet from the built-in PC connection.

Any ideas?

Peter,
This reads as a regulated power supply system. No mention of it being a mini PC, no ethernet nor wifi features.

Are you wanting a mini PC to use mounted to your telescope to control all your gear?

I've got a couple of ideas about those things.

Hi Glenn. It was just a passing thought. Since I have this SV241 on order, I wondered whether it might be possible to move the data from it to the PC by some means other than a long USB cable.

I've played around with various RaspberryPi boxes such as Stellarmate and Astroberry over time but then ASIAIR came along and blew those out of the water.

Hey Pete,
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006327967170.html?spm=a2g0o.ord er_list.order_list_main.292.3977180 2qwOPcu

I got one of these when they were $60 delivered.
I put Ubuntu Linux and Jellyfin on mine. Jellyfin serves a steaming server to our home network for video. Ubuntu didn't reconise the wired network card. Wireless works fine.

Hi Rjbin. Looks interesting. Still a good price ($110) but the SV241 has no video output. Can this thing stream other data? Could it interface with some application that would control mount, ccd, focuser etc?

It comes with what I suspect was a rufus version of win11 which gets it to install on non compliant hardware but it ran at a crawl. I didn't try any other windows on it as linux worked so well. Mine has 60gig ssd on board storage but also has an M.2 socket that takes an M.2 sata ssd card so you could stick a 500gb card in there as a D drive. It needs a HDMI dummy plug if running without a monitor else it shuts itself down. In a pinch you could run win7 or 10 on it and remote desktop to it wirelessly. You may need wireless access point running for that.

There are more powerful mini PCs on Ali and price goes up proportionately.

At home just connect through your home wifi.

Away from home, one of these would do it.
