As a bit of a collector I couldn’t resist .When I was young my OM 1went around Australia and overseas .I,m hoping at the other end the new OM3 will do the same. There is nearly 50 years between these two.

I love old cameras and have quite a collection but not sure if I have an Olympus amongst them. They made great cameras.

I still have my 21/4 square (6x6) Ensign I was given as a kid and it was old then.

I remember back in the 70s mono film was cheap compared to colour but slides were always the best value because processing was included in the purchase price. Then I shot some stuff for my boss for warranty purposes in the late 80s with my new Nikon (I still have it in new condition and all of my lenses fit my Nikon digital) and he said black and white was fine, till he found out how much processing was compared to colour. How things change.

I still have my old OM1, purchased in 1975 but haven't used it for nearly 20 years so don't know if it still works. Was a great camera in its' day, took it on several overseas trips and also used it for some surf photography during that time, mostly on Chrome 64. Did some astrophotography in the 90s' and early 2000s' but the results pale compared to what my digital cameras can achieve nowadays.
If you want it for your collection Leo I would be happy to pass sit on.

Derek, they were superb Cameras I started with the OM2 and also had the 0M4 titanium, they were top of the range in those days and I am sure you will get plenty of go years out of your new addition.
