Discord Server for Southern Hemisphere Astronomy

G’day Astronomers and Astrophotographers!
My team and I have designed a Discord server specifically for Southern Hemisphere astronomy. I highly recommend joining it, hanging out, and meeting new people from down under!

There are channels for;
- Seeking help with astronomy
- Sharing your images
- Promoting your social media profiles
- Getting great target and imaging location suggestions
- Meeting more people from the Southern Hemisphere.
And much, much (seriously) more!

Now, perhaps the most exciting part, we are the proud home of the SAC Telescope, a collective of Southern Hemisphere astrophotographers that collaborate on incredible targets. Its purpose is to capture rarely seen objects in deep space, with the goal of capturing the BEST image EVER taken of a given target!

I just joined and it's just a gif fest with people writing nonsense especially in the general area I'm not a huge fan of discord due to it's convoluted bloated messy interface.

Hey Nick, I'm sorry to hear that. I have told them to stop sending random gifs. They stopped pretty quickly. If they continue again they will be timed out and/or banned.

Hey Nick, this is the owner. I am sorry you had that experience. We had an influx of trolls join overnight and I was not able to tend to this. We have since taken care of the issue and introduced measures to stop this from happening again. Thank you for your feedback, you are always welcome.

I run several discord servers and I would recommend that you use https://yagpdb.xyz/ as a way to control spam, set filters and control membership.
