Hi All
Last night test run of my new camera, the ZWO ASI678MM. I thought it would be fun to go monochrome when imaging the moon, so purchased the ASI678MM. Conditions were not great but did figure out the idiosyncrasy of the camera. Due to its small Pixel size of 2.0 µm the camera fits well with an f10 scope based on the 5x rule, so no barlow required. Stay tune for more images.
The attached image is the region around the crater Eudoxus. It caught my eye due to the nearby mountainous region.

Very nicely done Anthony. Lovely natural detail even given the less than optimal conditions.
I've always found I like to avoid the barlows if the image train is already at a good scale. Looking forward to the rest of the set!

That's a nice tasty bit, to which beast was this images through? How did you set the focus of the camera? Did you have a Crayford focuser as well?

That looks amazing Anthony and just a little more detail than I can get with my 80mm semi APO Megrez and Player one Neptune IMX178 colour camera (yes, I'm joking, even I'm not that stupid).
Is that with the same 14" telescope Anthony?
When I was looking into buying a new mono camera from Bintel I did a lot of reading and researching into full well and pixel size and everything else to go along with it. It seemed the larger pixel sized cameras are a little better suited to longer focal length telescopes which I own. I'll one day buy a cooled 294 but it will be colour, I don't get enough clear yard with mountains and trees either side of me to do mono and Bintel messed me around so I never ended up getting the $4,000 camera and filter set.

Nice, Eudoxus, Aristoteles, and Mitchell, and Egede shows up neatly there as well. Good work.

Hi Houghy
I am using a Meade LX200 12” with the stock standard crayford original packaging with the scope. Focuser was just eyeballing it on the laptop.
Cheers

Hi Leo
Still using the Meade 12” LX200. I wish I had a 14”, maybe when I win lotto.
Cheers
