Compiled from thirty 120-second exposures using a Sharpstar 61EDPH refractor and an ASI2600MCProDuo matched with an Optolong L-Extreme filter and mounted on a ZWO AM3. The exposures were taken at the dark sky observing site of the Central West Astronomical Society, Cookamidgera NSW. Embiggened at: https://app.astrobin.com/u/tim.anderson?i=tzx8mm#fullscreen

nice work Tim I think this is a really great result. Overall its got great colour and detail, stars look good and the framing great too. Perhaps explore the SCNR function in PI to reduce some of the green in the stars, and it may benefit with some noise reduction (I use Noise exterminator but there are other options in PI if you don't have that). Good stuff!

Thanks Dave
This was actually a dark sky test of the Optolong L-Extreme filter, which seems to work well with the ASI2600MCPro camera, even though the site doesn't have much light pollution. I am impressed with the Ha and O3 colour response, and also the way that the filter controls star bloat under a quarter moon. I suspect the filter would be very valuable for people in heavily light-polluted areas.
