I tried a deeper capture of luminance data with 80 x 300s frames to try to get as much of the halo as possible in this image. I didn't get enough Ha data to be happy with. Continuum subtraction was pretty tricky due to the red channel drowning out the feint Ha signal.

Hi Franco,
that's an excellent result.
What location was it taken from?

cheers

Thanks! It was taken from my backyard roll off roof obsy in South East QLD, around 1/2 hour south of Toowoomba, Bortle 3-4 location. Due to the weird weather it took a few weeks to acquire the data, finishing 2 weeks ago

A very good 3521. It's an unusual and pretty galaxy.
That flocculent cloud needs a fair bit of exposure to be fully revealed.

You got a lot of it but it extends past that a bit more (like most galaxies really).

Greg.
