Last night saw a totally eclipsed moonrise. It was hard to spot initially in the evening twilight. The second half of the event unfolded without any cloud interference. Great views.

The cloudy view from my front balcony was disappointing.

Well caught!

Nice shots Mirko!

Cloud everywhere.
I couldn't even get the slightest view.

Fabulous images, Mirko. Thanks for sharing.

Managed a binocular view of the final 30 minutes through cloud layers close to the horizon here in Kingston, Tasmania. The final faint diming near the edge of the Moon gave way to a fully disk as cloud bands washed across the field of view.

Great catches Mirko, yes a low lunar eclipse is very difficult to spot

Hi Mirko,
Lovely images. You must be happy with those.

The moon only rose 25 minutes before P4 from here. I was driving back to Young from Canberra. I did catch glimpses of it in the rear view mirror but didn’t stop.

Thank you gents.

It was a well-timed break from the many nights of cloud we've had since December. We watched it with a Telementor at low powers and a pair of 7x50s. There was a window during which the darkening sky's deep blue provided an especially nice colour contrast to the red of the umbral shadow on the Moon. That would have been the defining feature of this event for us

Edit: Here are a couple from the partial phase

Hey Mirko, I just found this Composite Image I remembered of a rising Lunar Eclipse back in 2014, shows how dim it was when low in the beginning and became brighter as it rose
Hope worth the squizz

Thanks Mike
Bob - yes I remember that composite. Great illustration of the fully eclipsed Moon's dimness during such twilight events!
