This is the Great Carina Nebula! I was delighted to have been able to resolve the Eta Carina double Star also! The seeing conditions were excellent all the nights. I took 24 hours of data. Probably the most detailed image I have ever taken. 103 Apo 533mm Antlia filters Am3 mount 300 sec ea.
Integration per filter:
- Hα: 8h 40m (104 × 300')
- SII: 7h 35m (91 × 300')
- OIII: 7h 5m (85 × 300')

Colour palette alone is a winner, the muted stars highlight the nebulosity, nice work mate.

A bright and easy to image bit of sky, so it has to be good to elicit an Oooh and an Aaaah and this one did...and a faaark :) A super image Paul!!

As I asked on AB, one thing, I'm trying to work out the image scale you shot it at though, as the specs on your scope and camera combined, seem to suggest something much coarser than the 0.55"/pix AstroBin and in fact the detail in your image, suggest...?

Thanks Mike! I drizzled at 2 x set at 0.75 drop scale and did not down-sample afterward. Because even at 2 x there was no degradation in quality. This is because of faultless dithering at time of capture allowing for variation in FOV. The 103 APO with this bright target (as you say), allows for some fine detail given enough integration time - so you can up sample with no compromises.

Ok cool thanks for that, makes sense now, so the 0.55"/pix as mentioned on AB, is about where it effectively ended up then?

Yes I supposed so. it calculates that based on the upload which had zero crop
