Hi,

I am in the process of replacing my ASI294MC, with an ASI2600MC. The sensor distance for the 294 is 6.5mm, the ASI2600MC, 17.5. I am not using a reducer, just the supplied field corrector that comes with the scope.

Am I correct in saying, I simply need to remove the 11mm adaptor I am using ?

As for using the .77 reducer ( which I have, but never used ), does this change the required spacers/adaptors.

I have seen so many conflicting answers on Google, it is making my head spin.

Cheers,

Lance

the ZWO page (https://www.zwoastro.com/2024/09/26/asi2600-guide-4-connection-methods-to-get-55mm-back-focus-length-2/) has all the spec for backspacing just refer to that.
But yes the 2600 does not even come with the 11mm spacer as it isnt required since it is already at 17.5. The 294 is 6.5 +11mm spacer to get 17.5 then 21 and 16.5 to get 55

Yes, using a reducer will bring the focus point closer to the telescope. Also, reducers will have a stated back focus requirement from the end of the reducer to the camera sensor.
