Some more images from tonight. Seeing was the best I've seen in a long time - not perfect but I'm not complaining.

All captured with the ToUcam, negative projection, 2.5x Powermate, C8, UV/IR filter, K3ccdtools. Stacked in Registax v4. Pretties and saved for web in PS CS3.

Negative projection is when you use a lens like a barlow or powermate to increase the focal length of your scope. Other methods include prime focus, secondary focus, etc, afocal, positive projection, eyepiece projection, etc. If you do some searches in IIS you'll find some excellent threads where these have been discussed before.

Thanks Mike! Yeah, I had everything on except the ski gloves and the freezer pants, and I felt like they were overdue! If the lappy had not died from the cold and I started on Jupiter, who knows what I'd have to resort to to keep warm! I called it quits at 20:30!!!:scared::cold:

Here's another mosaic from Friday night. I've just finished processing the 23 avis I captured at f/10 to cover the whole quarter phase moon only to find there's two big holes in my data!:rolleyes:

So it's not all wasted, I'll pick out some mosaics of various sections...

This one is of the terminator. Captured at secondary focus of my C8 with the ToUcam, moon and UV/IR filters, and K3ccdtools. 16 avis MAP processed in Registax 4 with wavelets of 1=10.6, 2=5.1, then merged, rotated, cropped and saved for the web in PS CS3. The original has a resolution of about 1km per pixel - this web version is about 3kms per pixel.

And another of the limb. Processed as above but also levels adjusted in PS CS3 to increase contrast.

Al.

PS this is rotated 90 degrees also!

While going though my low res data from Friday night I noticed I captured the Abulfeda Crater Chain. I had only read about this a few nights ago on the web.

Here it is. Resolution is about 1km per pixel.
