For folks new to astronomy, there is a very easy way to locate the South Celestial Pole, for telescope alignment, or even navigation at night. I will share a link here to a quick video on how to do it, using both the Southern Cross alone and the Pointers as a precision reference.

Try it out the next time your outside in the dark. It is as accurate as any true south alignment tool.

Yes Glen I have also used that method many times, it is not spot on but it certainly gets close, thanks for the information.
