Hi everyone once again!!...:hi:
Its good to see that the cloud and the wind have finally departed up here!!
Nice clear skies with just a few patchy clouds around. Although still bad seeing for the telescope I got up at midnight for a go at M24 region in Sagittarius with my 200mm f/2.8 lense. Also captured M17 and M18 as well.
Getting the hang of focusing this thing now and quiet happy in the final image.
Ok exposure details: 14 x 150sec iso 800, 4 DFs taken with modded 300d and 200mm f/2.8 @ f/3.2..
Stacked in deepskystacker and the rest in PS...
It was only about 6 degrees C so kept the noise rather low.
I`m quiet happy with the final image..
All comments welcome!!!
Image size about 500ks...but still does no justice to the image..
Cheers Gary

I think it is a great image Gary. Why dont you try EasyHDR on a series of exposures on one of your great widefields. The lens is fine and colour is great as you obviously have a good dark sky site.
I think you will be surprised.

Hot stuff! I really like it. Nice colours too.

Have a look at the link below which was taken at 530mm (FSQ-106) to see how far in your 200 has got you.

Nice one Gary, impressive, the posted resolution does it justice, beats the pokey attachments that plauge these hallowed pages.

So much detail Gary. The more you look the more you can see.
You've done a terrific job.

Sorry if my beginner images offend you Fred.

Jeanette, come on, quite the opposite, its not the image, its the posted res. I wouldnt bother if they wernt worth it.

Sorry if I in turn offended, not the intention, I like your images, certainly not what I would class "beginner".

Thanks Bert, I downloaded the freeware version to play with. I would just like to put some color back in the brighter stars as alot are just pushed all the way to 255,255,255 so I have lost any info on the colors. Might take awhile to work this program out.....cheers

Thanks Monte, actually your closeup post with the Tak gave me the inspiration to do this area as I have never done a closeup of M24 before....

Ok, thanks Mike, Fred, Jeanette, Tamtarn and little col for the nice comments.....but no fighting allowed in my threads..lol..:P:rofl:
Keep em coming everyone...the more the merrier.
cheers and CS......

Just stumbled across this (trying to catch up with posts).

Gary,
Thank you for sharing your excellent image of this star cloud rich region. Stars are round, well resolved and appear balanced. Fantastic work. Look forward to seeing more of your work.:)
