Hi all,

5 shots of Copernicus between 9 and 11pm showing the sun hitting the wall then the floor of Copernicus.

Seeing was good then OK then ordinary but still you get the idea.

Celestron Edge HD 14" and ZWO 178 MM camera. Approx 2000 - 4000 frames with best 5% stacked in Autostakkert!3 and sharpened in Registax. Astronomik IR Pass filter.

Thanks

Richard

Nice sequence Richard, pity you didn't capture another hour or 2 so that the floor became even more illuminated but by then the moon would've been getting a bit low.

Yes Jeff that would have been good to get. But the trees ánd atmosphere had other ideas! I thought I would stitch together an animation but wasn't set up to get a long series. But this could be done either side of full moon with plenty of "sky time" for the slow-mo changes on the moon.

Interesting sequence, Richard.

I have done this many times visually over time scales of up to five hours. I find the change in lighting quite interesting.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone. It was an interesting couple of hours. I'll be more organised next time and try to get a uniform set of images over a longer time. I'm sure there are plenty of candidates for this sort of thing on the moon.
