NGC253 the Sculptor Galaxy

Here is one I took at my dark site with my AstroPhysics Riccardi Honders 305mm F3.8 astrograph ( a mouthful!).

Camera QHY600m, AP1600 mount and ZWO autoguiding camera. Astrodon filters and FLI filter wheel.

Only 3 hours 45 but conditions were ideal like my dark site often turns on.

A classic galaxy Greg. Good to see some work from the big scope :thumbsup:

Very nice Paul,
there are some red nebula areas showing - did you use Ha ?

You might able to squeeze a little more detail out of
the brighter areas of the galaxy with some clever processing such as:
using only RGB and no luminance and a blurred layer mask
to control the contrast
and later using a blurred layer mask to blend it back in?
