When attempting to repair the broken shutter on my other 60D, I managed to loose a small spring that gives some tension to lower blades..
It is almost guaranteed this spring will fly away even if all possible care was given (at least this happened to me) .
Now.. will the shutter without that spring work (for AP)?
Or should I simply remove it and go straight to shutter emulator (https://www.diplot.de/shutter_en.htm)?
Maybe someone knows where to buy those springs?
Thank in advance!

Hi Bojun
Another question - does anyone know where there is a dead 60D for parts?
Good luck
Philip

Let's hope this spring behaves!

I will remove it by placing everything in the plastic box, and using magnetized tweezers and screwdrivers .. So if the spring decides to run away, it will be tougher a task and it won't go far :D.
BTW, it seems this spring (also called "booster spring") helps to keep short exposures more consistent and accurate.. so not really needed for AP.
Hi Bojan,
Can you describe the type of spring you need(extension, compression or torsion spring) and its approximate size? My dad as a retired locksmith has a good collection, especially light gauge lock pin compression springs, maybe 2mm in diam and 8mm long and others .
Best

Hi JA,
It is very small torsion spring, wire is ~>ø0.2 mm, it has two turns (~ø3 mm) and hook (not visible on the image because it is vignetted) and overall length is ~10mm.
There are two of them, and the missing one is on top, marked in red on the image.
Don't worry about it too much, I will try to extract it from that dead (? I already had two "dead" cameras that miraculously resurrected after I replaced battery..)

"dead" camera arrived today, it is not 100% dead, it is powering up, and shutter works, but screen doesn't light up and it doesn't communicate with Cannon Utility (it's not recognized).
So, spare parts.. lots of them.
