I have for sale a brand new - 16 year old Lunt LS50F Ha front mounted solar filter, plus matching B600 blocking filter. Let me explain. The serial number places it amongst the earliest Lunt filters made - but due to a slight problem I had with gravity recently I've just replaced the internal etalon so the etalon is brand new. The B600 2-inch diagonal-mounted blocking filter is a little newer but the blue blocking filter which tends to fail over time has also been replaced recently (about 2 years ago) and is still in perfect condition. Cosmetically and mechanically they are both in perfect condition (the black anodising is fading a little).
While I was waiting for the etalon to be replaced, I ended up buying a second-hand 80mm Lunt telescope from IIS and so I don't need this 50mm one any more and so these are offered for sale.
A new LS50F Ha etalon will cost US$1188 and a B600 diagonal will add another US$427, making for US$1615. At the current (lousy) exchange rate that will cost you ... lots more, plus shipping and another 10% import duty. I also include a mounting plate for the filter which was made to fit my William Optics 90mm (~118mm diameter). This has adjustable screws and so will fit smaller tubes (to perhaps 80mm - but not tried).
$1800 posted (within Australia).
This filter can also be used as a double-stack for the Lunt 60mm dedicated solar telescope, and is how I used it for the last ~6 years. The attached image was taken through this combination (I am usually a visual solar observer so this is one of the only images I've taken through this filter).
(Sorry for the long story.)
