Yeah eh, about 20ks Sth of Yamba, pretty dark skies, was fortunate the western cloud burnt off and stayed clear for some hrs
Tues 28th, around 9pm
Tripod, 6DII, 135mm F2 wide open.
Something like 13 x 15secs
Oh, she was quite windy on the hill to, stars a bit blotchy, all good though

I also tried the iPhone, only own a while and has the slow shutter caper or something on it, I not know how worked so was holding it while doing what I thought was a count down for 6 second before the shot, but that 6 second was actually taking the shot, pushed the contrast and levels in phone and yeah some cool tail in there,, maybe some practice and ph tripod be more gooderra but hey, who’s looking for trails ;)

Amazing shots Bob!
As per EVERY comet I missed it again, I blame cloud, mountains directly west, trees and misinformation (I can't leave out my being too stupid either, thinking I'd wait till next time around (160,000 years or 600,000 years, no one knows?)).
OzEclipse (Joe) explained to me in one of his image sessions of the comet shared here (also amazing images) that despite the media coverage "go out just after sunset" which I did every night cloud or not, with binoculars but this one lot of Joe's amazing images were done at around 9:30PM.

Oh well, I may catch the full moon one night if we EVER get clear skies..........

Whereabouts in the sky is it at the moment? Tonight could be clear on the NSW south coast.

Greg.

Nice work Bob, and with such a simple setup.
Those Samyang 135's are comet killers aren't they.

Great work!
Joe

Yes indeed comet killers thnx Joe.

Been camp again with little reception but back now.
Happened to capture this comet again with a crescent moon causing substantial wash-out ?
