Fantastic shot. I love a good lightning image.
Absolutely ferocious storm, as you say one of the worst in recent memory.
Luckily no hail where I am.

Ta....suffice to say not much imaging was happening in the Observatory. I though it prudent to disconnect LAN and power cables to the switch, PC, mount etc.
As Greg mentioned...haven't seen a storm like that in recent memory. Sheet
lightning was almost constant at one point. The closest strike was 600m from our home....very bright flash and subsequent house shaking "Boom!" within 2 seconds.
Noticed quite a few aircraft "threading the needle" using Wx radar to get in and out of Sydney airport.

Top notch capture !!
Well done !!
My wife and I were walking from our car to her brothers house about 20m away up on the Central Coast at around 8.30pm and the lightning tracking through the clouds overhead was truly frightening. Something out of a horror movie.

Stunning image Peter!
Are you using an intervalometer/remote trigger or are you using a lightning trigger device?
I was reading just the other day many of the lightning triggers are not good. I've used an intervalometer for many years to capture hundreds of lightning shots in the past but have some components in a plastic bag somewhere I put together to build my own lightning trigger and just never got to it.
I also saw mention the Nikon Z9 can record pre-shutter activity so press the shutter when you see the flash and still have previous x time period captured. My sons LG phone had that precise function some years ago and we captured the identical lightning strike, him with his phone and me with my old Nikon D80 on a tripod at the side of the road. The shots are identical other than I used a higher level of zoom.
We had something like that last Sunday (Jan 12) which saw me come up with a quick way to mount a ball-head on the toilet window-sill (ONLY window with quick removable fly screen and clear view of eastern skies unimpeded by neighbouring trees) out of the rain but I lost my bits after sitting it all down somewhere with mount screw already set up. I found it an hour after the storm had passed.
I have spent a couple of hours in there Wednesday night but the lightning was so sporadic and nothing like Sunday's, I've never seen lightning like Sunday's.
Maybe tonight.......
