Still a good alignment tonight, hope no-one's sick of these images!

Lots of cloud, but just enough gaps - this was in Night mode, exp -2, flash off. Noisy so I gave it a v light filter, but no other adjustments except cropping & resizing from larger image. Olympus Stylus 410 auto digital on tripod. Had a couple of shots with the moon in the clear, but like the cloud effect in this one. :P

Bottom-left to top-right: Venus, Saturn, bright star Regulus, Moon.

Nice capture Rob.
I like the colours and misty cloud around the moon !

Hi Rob

Keep ‘em coming, so we can see what we are missing in Brissie, under the miserable layer of clouds that don’t even have the decency to deliver some good rain! Fantastic iridescent colours in the cloud filtering the moon light.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Rob - no not sick of alignments. Saw the same tonight as I left work - before the cloud rolled in again.

I saw these two bright stars in the east from the Sunsine Coastast Hinterland 5am this morning. Does anyone know which stars they were?

Hi Britt, a quick guess is that they were planets - Venus and Jupiter. I'll just check a planetarium program. Eric

Yep, Jupiter up to the left and Venus down to the right.

This free program will help you next time.
