Hi Guys, this is one probably for the Top End Members.

I am traveling to the Northern Territory next week for about 5 weeks, hopefully to do some Lightning Photography, hopefully it will be better than two years ago with nothing much to show for my efforts.

Anyway I was just wondering, dose NT have a pay by smart phone system happening and can one carry a digital license rather than a physical License.

Thank You.

You can have drivers licence on the phone, but what's the point.
Cash is king, don't forget. Cheers

In some respects, we are 20+ years behind, which for the most part I am thankful. One of the reasons why I live here.
But yes, you can pay for most things using Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc etc.

As for digital drivers licence, don't know. I'm happy to carry my plastic card.

Due to the frequent severe electrical storms at this time of year, power outages can be common. A bit of cash in the wallet can be handy at these times when the networks are down.

Thanks Phil, you have made a good point, I will certainly have a few dollars in the wallet just in case.;)

Also, not sure if you know - you need your drivers licence when buying takeaway alcohol in the NT (regardless of age) - most places need the physical card to scan
