I am always after these Eagles to see them is special:) .
They are very hard to photograph unless you have a hide.

This is on of two at a road kill.

As soon as they see the lens they fly away.

This was thru a 70/300 maxed out and the frame cropped to the subject.... he was still a long way off:whistle: .

This was shot on auto as they fly off so quick you often have to just bang away ...but its hard to get results with a 300mm lens on the fly;)

So as to get an idea of size think about the size of those feet on the post.

Great photos Alex, they are such a majestic bird and a bit of attitude as well I suspect.

Impressive bird Alex, here in Tassie they're very much a threatened species, I saw one swoop in a paddock one day and take a newborn lamb.

Excellent Alex!

They are such beautiful birds and I love watching them just gliding around on the updrafts.

We have a few around here but they are very elusive to Cameras!!!!

Nice shot Alex, We have a pair that nest in my back yard. All the other birds
freak out when they are on the prawl. Lovely to watch and evening better when
they do one of their dives. I love watching them training their young to hunt.
The parents will usually fly above the young. I have some picture of them in
their nest somewhere's that were taken through my 60mm and LPI would you
believe. Not as good as your shots, but then again the o'l LPI isn't the best
of cameras for this pupose :lol:

Beautiful birds.
I have a friend that lives near Byron, he was on his back verandah, having a bit of a smoke, when one of these swooped down and took off with his very elderly moggie. All he heard was kitty going Meorrrrw as it flew away. Spun him out completely.
