Good one Bob.
Can you get M31 like that?

Looks like youve got a fulltime mobile observatory there.

Cheers

Cheers and good xmas your way Glenn, doubt see much of M31 in the 20mm Lens mate, here is a shot of it with a 50mm, above the yacht Mast, mind you this was taken 20klms south of Newcastle City L-Pollution, Nsw.

Yes, Mobile for traveling, time to see a bit more Aus and its Night Skies,,,

Thnx David,

I didn't plan much or gauge the conditions/seeing prior, just no clouds and a bit of spontaneity, helps using read-glasses when focusing these days too, Lol.

With DSLR's and other normal cameras (non astronomy) they usually have an adjustable diopter at the viewfinder you can adjust to get it right for your vision. With my telescopes I get my son to focus them for me (for imaging not visual, obviously), he has great eye sight.

They are lovely photos Bob, I used to love pointing my old Nikon 35mm towards the heavens when I was out at dark camping locations. Mostly though I'd just lay under the stars and admire the most amazing view to be had from earth.

Indeed Leo,
I' m understanding the younger generation having 20/20 vision etc, a little envious I might add, not just looking at stars either,,
As with my Manual Focus lenses doing Live Video I use glasses to see screen clearer works a treat...
Yes time enjoying the skies with-out a telescope rig and the rest of it is quite attractive these days, Im looking forward to finding interesting locations in the future ,
Kind Rgrds
