At least you'll see (albeit shimmering) stars!

Actually Paul, under similar conditions on Saturday evening, I did find a single sharp frame of a double star, albeit somewhat elongated, from a 1200 frame AVI, so the seeing can't be too bad eh!

Cheers

Maybe not bad (in Melbourne  ) - clouds and rain permitting

Bugger all chance here in Sydney. I can't even remember the last time we had clear skies. I'm sure it was before Jupiter was at opposition. Oh well. At least our dams have had some good rain.

As long as it's fine tonight, I'll be out there. I just hope the wind doesn't blow the dome off the observatory. I reacon if I use about a 8 mm lens you won't be able to tell it's bad seeing, anything longer though could be risky.

We've go a severe weather warning out atm for SE Qld. Mainly the Darling Downs, Granite Belt and areas south of Brisvegas. Thought if that damn low down south gets any deeper the etreme windy conditions may extend up to us.

The seeing is much better here, Paul! I can see all the way to the low level drizzly cloud... it doesn't appear to shimmer at all!!!

I hope it's clear for you... and I hope it snows here! Big Time!:D

I think for Sydney this month is a Right off. Just been handed a severe weather alert at the office. It must be bad out there.

Sorry Paul, the jetstream is my fault. I got a new illuminated reticule eyepiece in the mail yesterday so I can finally try some drift aligning on the EQ6...
