Yesterday I was collecting a series of sky flats - then before I knew it the clouds opened up and let go - need I say my roof on the Obs was open fortunately only partially so nothing got shorted out although the scope and mount where covered in water, pay me not to trust the BOM forecast :)

Lucky Trev , could have been worse
Sky flats are a pain in the butt
I use an A3 and A2 light pad both in Sydney and down south at my Obs
At my Dome down south I can take my Flats and Flat darks either at night after a session of Lights or during the following day with the Dome closed.
Rain or no rain

At the risk of teaching people how to suck eggs...
weather predictions are just that - predictions - they can be wrong.
I always have the BoM radar going during outdoor sessions...
gives plenty of notice of impending precipitation!

1. Drive 75km out to a Bortle 2 site. Mount tripod in roof boot. Key won't open roof boot because lock is dry, no lubricating spray and no amount of wiggling or jiggling of the key helped. Drove home.
2. Drove 75km out to same site, brought everything except power cable.
I could go on........
Couple of years ago we flew to Shanghai to observe the total solar eclipse, one of the longest ever, just when the eclipse started it started raining and stopped after the eclipse finished!
The Science museum was nice though.

Huey,
You must've been set up near us!:lol:
But we expected that going to Shanghai in mid-monsoon season. My only cloud out in 15 total and 3 annular eclipses.
