Moon & Venus are awesome in the sky right now, and I snapped these off with an Olympus Stylus 410 auto digital camera. Ist is in Auto mode with -1.3 exposure, flash off. 2nd shows moon + Venus + Saturn: Night mode, flash off. "Earthshine" visible. An occultation of Venus is coming up for Europe, west Asia, northern Canada etc.

I saw it but didn't have time to grab a photo - by the time I was home and able to use my camera they had dipped below the trees (I have a very high west horizon).
I see tomorrow night the moon and Saturn are much closer, and not much further from Venus. I'm looking forward to that opportunity.

Within half a degree, I understand. Hoping for a clear sky in Melbourne - but forecast is not promising.

Beautiful photo's Rob. Thin clouds and a light drizzle stopped viewing in Brissie - thanks for showing me what we missed.
Cheers

Did anyone happen to catch a photo of Saturn and the Moon last night? I managed to catch it for about 2 minutes out my car window, but it was well and truly lost behind cloud the rest of the night!
