If, according to Alien Quadrilogy, "in space, no one can hear you scream", then, if a tree fell on the moon would it make any sound? The answer is not 42 but, "of course not, there are no tree's on the moon", I looked and have confirmed this to be so.
:P It's after midnight, I am going to bed. :o

No there is no air on the moon so no one would hear it.
what if the american flag on the moon fell over tho?
oh hang on, that was a hoax! :P

Ahh ...but...if a tree (imported of course :) ) fell and you had your helmet in contact with the ground or a rock, would the thud of imact with the ground transfer through to your helmet and be heard?

You would feel the vibration and see the image but there would be no sound.:P

Ahh but isn't that what sound is, vibration. Helmet vibrates:anaut: , causing air in helmet to vibrate ...voila ....sound :D
But knowing NASA they probably have so much padding in the helmet to prevent vibration simply to frustrate me so I can't prove my theory :nerd: :einstein: :P
reminds me of a joke:
"if a man says something in a forest and theres no women around to hear him, is he still wrong?"
;)

Works with motorbike helmets Paul, padding and all. Touch the hemets together as your riding and you can hear each other pretty well.
Dunno about that. I heard heaps of screaming during the Alien movies :p

I want to volunteer to test this theory. Would someone second my own nomination to Nasa please. Or at least contact the Enterprise so I can get a lift.:ship1:
You don't even need the air in your helmet to vibrate (although you might have some pressure problems without the air :) ). Having your skull vibrate will let you hear. Also, the hearing of low frequencies is supplemented with feeling them with the rest of your bodies.
