This is my first attempt at N70- the super bubble in the LMC. It is 300 light years across and has been created by multiple SNe that maintain a cavity of less dense hot gas with a cooler outer shell.
Its rarely imaged- just 26 photos of it exist on Astrobin- compared to the nearby Tarantula which is 100 times more popular (Orion has over 100,000 photos!) .
Details:
Askar 700mm with 533MM Pro, flats, bias, dark flats.
5 min subs, 6 hours of Ha plus 5 hours of O3. 6nm filters.
Bortle 7.
Processed as HOO with Foraxx palette for the stars.
The link to the image is here (https://astrob.in/1u2wum/0/).
For context, it can also be seen as an unnamed object towards the top left of this mosaic (https://astrob.in/z35f6x/0/) I did last year.
