Comet from Sydney

After setting up three nights in a row only to see clouds, I finally managed a photo of it on its westward journey. Even then it was touch and go as the clouds raced in and completely covered the sky again before it was dark. This is heavily cropped and suffers from severe light pollution gradient which I managed to combat at the expense of some detail- you can still see the anti-tail and it looks better in a grayscale version.

Samyang f/2 135 mm @ f/2.4 calibrated darks, flats 5 sec subs for 5 min.

Nicely done from Sydney's heavily light-polluted skies!

I had a go with the Samyang 135mm from Sydney too but decided against dragging an eq mount to where I could definitely catch it (esp with the weather being so difficult).
It had faded significantly since I last saw it in the morning sky back on Oct 4th.

Thanks Pete. Yes, light pollution, endless cloud and- if you do get a few minutes of clear sky like last night- its gale force winds. Having said that, looking at other images I am not sure I would've got anything more from a darker site just easier to process.

Thanks Bob. I managed another go last night at the edge of the City. Its very similar data but much cleaner..I will post later.

I also got some nice video- does anyone have a good way of uploading videos? I can convert ser files in PIPP but the avi and gif look rubbish after reducing to the file limits of most sites. :question:What do others use?

Im not the person for the best answer regarding Video sites Gary, Lol, I will however suggest You-Tube, not sure how many file types they can read,, but they do 4k and 8k i believe.. Then just drop the Link into your post, hope this a viable option...
