I've been experimenting with Procreate lately. For the moment, just sketching freehand images I've taken displayed on a monitor, while I learn the myriad tools available. Here's Copernicus. Note this is not manipulation of the original image but developing my drawing skills.

I think the result is sufficiently different from traditional drawing techniques to warrant development. Would love feedback from experienced artists/imagers.

Procreate drawing on an iPad using an Apple Pencil.

Cheers,

Hi Geoff,

The (almost) lost art! There is a reason why the best bird books for example are paintings and sketches - in many cases they catch all the important factors that one photographic instant can't.

Procreate looks promising for this application so good luck and please keep posting your work.

Thanks for these encouraging words, Richard. I hadn't thought about the bird drawings, but you're right! I doubt my sketches will ever replace good imaging, but it does lead me to focus on aspects I hadn't noticed before. Will put up more over time. Thanks again!

Agree, a lost art, amazing the shade intensities on the wall in the right locations which really emphasises a very realistic 3D appearance, so in saying that i'm sure some of us have seen images of craters where the 3D sense is just not there, over-processing, software technicalities, Hmmm !

I see a real good Sand Tobogganing slope there at 4-o'clock :cool2:
