I was wondering if anyone has made a DIY polar alignment system out there. I know there is a post for one for the AM3. It requires a lot of 3D printed gear.
Im tempted to to do something with off the shelf high precision stepper motors. like https://www.moonsindustries.com/c/high-precision-hybrid-stepper-motors-a020104?srsltid=AfmBOopemy6x1bfTizo iq5h9Hyb2NtxMHxQ8jaePlcyb60ELqt8XJq Y4
Even if it wasn't automated it would be good for fine tuning the polar alignment remotely for example.
Avalon has a universal system but it costs about 2.5K aud after shipping and taxes to Australia. Surprised there is not much competition in this space
