I recently upgraded my PC’s connection to a 24Tb NAS via a 10gig optical fibre cable. Suffice to say it wasn’t plug-and-play.

The link is now working brilliantly…allowing me to move very big image and .SER files in seconds.

I came across some older data that I’d almost forgotten about, and thought humm….there are some new tricks this old dog could apply.

The result is here (https://www.atscope.com.au/BRO/gallery686.html)

That's a phenomenal image! when was the original file taken?

I too recently upgraded the connection between my NAS and processing PC to a 10Gbs direct connection (wired ethernet though). It's made a world of difference.

Ta Josh. Yes, I wish I had sped up my NAS connection much earlier.

Image was taken at 22:07pm 8 July 2017........a while ago!

My current PC rips through datasets in minutes. The machine I had back then would ponder the data for a few hours.

I do like that peter, you cant get much crisper and clearer than that , nice work.

Thanks Leon.

Yep, there is a difference between images that look sharp and ones that have high resolution.
Thankfully new processing tools allow you to apply subtle deconvolution without the harsh sharpening artifacts.
I'm much happier with this re-pro as a result.

P.S. The sublime figure of the Alluna Optics didn't hurt either ;)
