well i was lucky enough to get to image the comet looking out over Nobbys beach Newcastle, after many days of cloud and rain. it was a last window of opportunity to image the comet. with a fast approaching front of high cloud coming we were treated to a nice spectacle. hunting for the tail to position the camera it would have been great to image the comet the week before in darker skies before dawns cruel light.
its a stack of 8 8 second images with canon ra and 70-200mm lens at 100mm and f4 . stacked in deepsky stacker and processed in pixinsight

Thanks Joe, there is a limit you can push some shots, this wasn't one of those. That tail just blended into obscurity.

It's the early bird that catches the comet! Well caught, Dave.

After my Tuesday disastrous attempt with clouds and fog that was my only chance. Better than nothing, thanks for looking.

Yes I was watching it come in behind us. Thanks for spotting that tail in the widefield, it certainly helped to frame it up and anticipate the comet nucleus
