Comet A3

The comet captured this morning at 5.00am, had a few problems with my setup so a late start. This is a stack of 11 x 10 second exposures at iso 1600, canon 6d through a 480mm fl ED80 F6 triplet. Looks like it might be clear again tomorrow morning so hopefully will get a earlier start the 15min window between 4.45am and 5.00am is just too short.

Seems a Golden coloured tail from this comet, don't see that often but is evident in other exposures also
great F/L them ED80's for comets at times

Nice shot Rick.

Not lost on me that there's so much prep and sacrificed sleep for 20 mins of furious capture. No time or margin for errors. This comet takes no prisoners.

Its not going to be much better when it hits the evening sky, we will be chasing a setting comet low in the evening sky.

All good fun, but yes no green in this one yet. Seems to be all dust at the moment hopefully we get a big outburst at some stage. Still cant complain it was predicted to fizz out on us.
