Happy & Excited

Hi eveyone
My name is Manny and I am a newcomer to astronomy my wife bought me a 60mm tasco refractor last christmas (no that is not why I am happy or excited ) but it certainly sparked an interest in the night sky. I then started
reading and searching the web for all astronomy related material when I
came across IIS and let me say this site is a pleasure to be a part of. The knowledge the constructive criticsm the comradierie the pleasant members and help given makes this site unique.
Now why am I happy and excited ? My wife has just ordrered a 12" lightbridge for me from Bintel who once again are absolutely fantastic.
Scope should arrive friday so I hope I dont spoil eveyones viewing.

Congratulations Manny - a 12" reflector is an awesome pice of telescope, and you will see so much more through it - bigger, brighter, better - bloody awesome!

We don't know your good wifes name but please assure her that she is a treasure - not only for being willing to spend the money on such a scope, but for making probably the best available choice as well.

Welcome Manny and Mrs Manny..WOWIE!!..A 60mm tasco and a 300mm lightbridge..please keep the 60mm cause this is the first scope your lovely wife has brought you and your introduction to the sky..but the lightbridge would provide you with a lifetime of enjoyment..you are both truely blessed!!

thank you everyone for all the positive comments on my forthcoming lightbridge. I will definetely be keeping the Tasco as it will hopefully foster an interest in astronomy for our granddaughter as she gets a little older (1 year in July).

Hi Manny and welcome , I still have my 60mm refractor, it is now 21 years old and it still gets used for terestrial and moon watching, as my signiture says I also have a 16" reflector which gets lots of use.
Great wife you've got there.
