this is where the seestar shines, in really dark skies and bright targets, nice work!

Thanks :)

Truth, difference from Bortle 4 (home) to 2 is marked on the brighter DSO 'greatest hits' - I'd love to set up the big rig for an astro holiday!
Might have to look at travel kit

Cheers Leon
Just been reading on the Seestar FB forums that beta testers seem to be having great results with an upcoming Mosaic mode upgrade.
That’ll certainly expand the usability of the little fella!!

Hard to convince a friend to buy an equatorial mount and an ASIAIR/other when you produce such an image with your Seestar!

Thankyou Ross - the clear Bortle 2 skies helped with this image a lot!
Skies like those make me want to lug my EQ mount and the rest down there to image

Great shot Doug! I too am looking forward to the mosaic mode rollout for the SeeStar.

Cheers Patrick - yes, framing and cropping out field rotation effects has been frustrating sometimes with the Seestar - hope Mosaic mode helps with that (and retains the device's amazing simplicity) 🙏🏼

They have a couple of mosaic scripts which are quite good at letting you crop out the rubbish and maximise your available frames, but being able to plan your mosaic will be great.

Quite remarkable Doug, that has great amount of faint dust considering 10 sec exposures, massive 1078 subs 'lucky imaging' is an amazing result.
Gotta be happy with that !!
