Last Friday and Saturday night I observed with a 10" Dob (not goto) from a hill about 8 km west of Lismore, NSW. Most observations were done with 11mm and 4.7mm EPs (82deg) and a 9mm with a UHC filter. I looked at clusters, nebulae and galaxies including these 30 PN. Used a map to find M76, found the rest for memory.

That is quite an effort, observing all of those, in one night and you must have a good memory. Have observed about half of those , I think and possibly a few more if I checked . On that same vein, I was imaging M27 last night / this morning. A favourite, if I have one is the planetary hiding in M46 though it is not that difficult an object to spy, even with an 200mm dob from suburbia. Have also imaged it.

Thanks Jeff, I like your M46 M47 image.
NGC 6153 forms a nice cross shape with 3 stars.

Sounds like a very productive night. Must have been right down on the horizon for some of them. I don’t think I’ve ever observed m57 or m76 before that would hav been a challenge!

Dave, M57 is easy from Sydney, M76 is difficult.

Great observing session Glen!

Nice work observing M76, that one is low down for us and is an object I haven't yet tried to observe.

That's impressive. Thanks for sharing Glen!

Which did you like best? I like the way M57 wears its name well even under poor seeing (It's just above the horizon for me and bang in the middle of the Melbourne light pollution dome).

Also, regarding your eyepieces, I have the ES82 11mm but was wondering how the eye relief of the 4.7mm compares? I don't need glasses at these mags but the 11mm is about as tight as I'm willing to go.

M27 is my favourite PN.
Both the 11 and 4.7 are fine for me.
