Hey everyone! New here. I'm posting here about my OpenAstroExplorer, a new portable eq mount in testing from Openastrotech.
The github repo is linked here: https://github.com/OpenAstroTech/OpenAstroExplorer
It's made to be portable (the large ring for ra can be disassembled/reassembled with magnets)
All belt drive on ra, worm/belt on dec
This is my build. It consistently guides < 1 arcsec, and is goto - build cost was ~ 350 aud.
I'm pretty happy with it, what are your thoughts?

Looks a great project a DIY , build your own Sky Adventurer equivalent from readily available , off the shelf parts for a fraction of the price. What max weight does it carry for 1 arc/sec guiding.

That's certainly interesting William. I'm going to have to look further into this.

The lead dev managed to test it with a 6" newt and still managed sub arcsec guiding (although very cursed and would not recommend lol), so it should do well with the average refractor setup I guess (using a counterweight)
