What do you guys think of this lens, is it something I should be worried about or should I just leave it as is and not try get it fixed.

I expect someone who really knows what they are talking about will respond, but, this is what I think.



Are you able to tell if there is something on the surface? If so, it might clean off.


If it looks like the coating is failing at those spots, I suspect it is a matter of just leaving it.


Either way, for visual use, I think it won't be noticeable and for photography I suspect the flats will deal them for you.

Hi Reven. It looks like fungus to me so I would definately clean it or have someone do it for you. It may eventually damage the coating. There is information on the web about how to do it. Most people seem to use isopropyl alcohol. If you take the plate off make sure you carefully mark it's position. Bht there is lots of info on google or youtube videos.

They could be fungus spots.

They are unlikely to affect your views through the telescope for most things. If the marks are on the inside, the corrector has to be removed and replaced replaced very accurately otherwise the collimation will be affected.

Unless you know exactly what you are doing, you are likely to make the problem worse by removing the corrector plate. If the marks are on the outside, you can try to gently clean them with some lens cleaner and a soft tissue but if they don't come off, don't get rough.
