Thor's Hammer in IC1848

It's not often imaged by itself, Thor's Hammer in IC1848 in the HST palette. Done with the 16in Dall-Kirkham and Player One Poseidon mono camera, imaged remotely from Spain. It's the third image from it and so far I am really loving the way its running. Exposure time were 60x 180s Ha and 75x 300s each in O3 and S2 total 13hrs.

Curious?...do you use the BlurEX suite? If you do, you are one of the few using them well, as I can't tell in this image, it looks very natural :thumbsup:

Cheers Mike, Yes I do use it, but like any deconvolution tool it has to be used carefully or as you know can cause some terrible artefacts. I used to use Deconvolution which can also give horrible artifacts, but I learned how to use Decon without masking which taught me to see things going wrong early on. But generally I only use it on the longer FL scopes as a way of recovering lost resolution. Although we have had some really good seeing in Spain recently.

Thanks Greg, Yes, other than it being done in the HST palette I think mostly its the dynamics of the object having that brighter backlight focal point allowing that nice steep contrast range..... I am really please with one.
