Hi All, there hasn't been much posted yet and I know that it isn't going to be a great season, with Jupiter and Mars at the northern section of the Ecliptic. Was trying to do some Deep Sky last night but it got too wet and dewy so gave up that idea, noticed that Saturn was rising higher so swapped out the frac for the Mak and captured some avis'. The seeing was reasonable for a change and am happy with the results.
Details - 180mm Skywatcher Mak, HEQ5, ZWO290mc, 5k video files, processed in ASi3 & Registax, stacking best 25%.

Hi Jeff those are really nice shots mate. Some very nice detail in the bands and great catch with Rhea & Tethys too. I was out that night too albeit a little bit later and was able to capture the double lunar transit - will post some pics later on...

It's been very dewy here in Syd too, plus seems like a lot of haze around so conditions really not very rewarding for astro. But I agree the sky was quite stable in periods on the 7th / 8th but I'm paying the price for a couple of late nights now...

A great start to the season, Jeff.

I am not sure how well I will fare way down here at 43 degrees south.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. The dew for the past few nights has been heavy for here near the coast but the seeing is better than average, for a change.
Steve, the planets will only be 10 deg lower than here in the Gong, will make Jupiter and Mars more problematic but Saturn should still be a reasonable height for you.

Great shot of Saturn Jeff.
Amazing really with a 180mm scope.

Cheers
