Awesome.
Would love to have a look at your setup and how it attaches to the AP130.

Ta.
Bit dark outside at the moment. I'll put up some happy snaps tomorrow.

'ere you go.
I use a compression fit adapter that goes directly onto the AP130 lens cell.
It's quite snug but as a result there is minimal play which keeps the etalon angles extremely stable (read no re-adjustment required) .

Thanks for posting that Peter.
I assumed it would look something like that - is there a critical spacing between the front element of the AP and the rear of the solar filter?
What frame rate do you achieve with the QHY533M?

The spacing doesn't matter. It's really like putting Baader film ahead of the
objective, as front mounted elatons require a parallel, rather than converging wavefront.
The field illumination of a front mount tends to be far more uniform than rear mounted systems, which often have annoying hot or sweet spots.
The QHY533M seems to top out at around 20fps with 16 bit data and a full frame. (8 bit gives banding). That said, if you use a ROI rather than the full field, 80-90 fps is typical.

Thanks Peter,
Lots to learn about solar, not that I’ll have any time to give it a go this solar maximum. Might be retired by the next solar max. ;-)

I'd say, don't wait. Carpe diem
Ta John. Have to say I'm enjoying the run of blue sky mornings of late :)
