Hi all,
Few of my recent Seestar images - great way to work on my processing chops while on the road.
Mixed bag of integration times and quality! 172 through to 1000 x 10secs.
Cheers

Great shots Doug - can I ask what programs you're using for processing? Also, what are your 5th and 8th targets? Cheers.

Great work, Doug. The quality of SeeStar images constantly surprises me. Nice (portable) machine. Alex

Beautiful images Doug...
the s50 so great for those of us who just want to take pictures...
can you imagine how good an "s100" would be? (ie something with a 100mm aperture)

PS....
Did you use the stacked image that the seestar made, or did you stack them yourself?

I took all the .fit images out of the My Works Seestar folder then stacked using either Astro Pixel Processor or Pixinsight (WBPP) then processed using PI

Doug, these are very good images. Some I would be proud of if taken through my 4 inch refractor. This small robotic device is changing the way we approach deep sky photography. A 250mm focal length at f5 is amazing. The technology, which is basically AI, is so sophisticated enables virtually anyone to take impressive shots without the need for expensive telescopes, mounts, peripherals and computers. Sure it has limitations but for the average photographer, with basic skills in image processing workflows, it's very acceptable. Makes me look at my big old clunker Newtonian and think - won't be long before it's off to the metal recycler!

Cheers Michael - as a 'veteran' imager (30+ years) but relatively new to the wonders of Pixinsight, I find the Seestar fun to experiment with the smaller image file sizes for stacking/integration in WBPP and speedy subsequent PI processing. A 'project' takes one night's worth of subs as opposed to weeks!
That said, I see some guys doing 49+hrs worth of 10sec subs in some of their Seestar images!!:eyepop:
