Thanks Greg. I've imaged it a few times and never really noticed the blue wrapping around the red as much before.

Excellent result from a OSC under B7 skies
Detail and colour is perfect !!
The 533MC and 2600MC are ideal for a variety of broadband targets under heavy LP using short subs ( you just need a few clear nights and no moon around , I’ve got a 2600MC ) Still trying to score a clear new moon period ( at least 3 or more nights over 2 weeks ) to test out my 2600MM and Antlia LRGB filters. You definitely need more clear nights under B7 and B8 skies when using a Mono set up, one of the minor drawbacks going Mono !!

Thanks a lot Martin. Yes, the weather the last 9 months has put me off ever going full mono. I used to get 2 or 3 clear nights a week now I'm lucky to get that in a month and almost always with a moon. I do also have a 533 mono and Ha (+O3) filter that I use on wide field Halpha projects (eg Gum) and when the moons up; I might swap cameras for things like Helix but it will be the exception not the rule.

Gary,
What I failed to mention is that from my experiences, Mono definitely wins hands down over OSC under B7 and B8 skies when it comes to narrowband imaging. Since using the 2600MM and Antlia 3nm Ha , Oiii and Sii filters from August 2023 , my images have significantly improved from the 2600MC and 5nm dualband in regard to detail , resolution , colour palette , overall quality and flexibility in processing.
Nevertheless both 2600 series cameras are excellent and have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Martin- thanks again for the insight. I intend to do some HOO in mono on the Askar (I dont yet have a Sii filter). My mono camera has been tied up with the Gum project which I have now stopped til next year.

This looks really good Gary, and You've managed an amazing amount of detail on the core. I can even make out one of the Snails antenna!

Thanks mate. Yes, I can see one *just* now you mention it. Looking forward to using it again soon....cue usual new moon cloud and rain down here.
